I was thinking about getting service wit AT&T, but was not wanting to commit to 2yr contract. Is it possible to go to an AT&T store, purchase a phone at regular price without any kind of discount, and get service without signing a contract? Please help. thanks in advance.

Re: Possible to Avoid Contract???
Thanks for the help. Do you know if I would still be subject to them running my credit? Also, would this also apply to the iPhone 3G if I bought it at regular price?

Re: Possible to Avoid Contract???
Sorry, But the Iphone is ONLY available with a contract, That is the agreement between ATT and Apple. About avoiding the contract, I will consult my Supervisor at work about that. I am a CSR for ATT.
Edit: This is directly from ATT...
No commitment service agreements
Option in which customers pay full price for their equipment or activate service with their own equipment.
The customer will still accept the Terms and Conditions. These terms review the agreement between AT&T and the customer, including the customer's price plan, terms of payment for service, and any additional services, as well as the terms and conditions of service.Last edited by campbell228; 12-30-2008 at 01:30 AM.
