Re: Retrieve deleted text messages from ATT
Once you delete them, they go into cyberland.
Carriers do keep a record of text messages sent/received and the content on them for a specific period of time. This content is nearly impossible to retrieve and may not be possible. They only have to release this content under court order, even then...many won't be forced to release it (since they may not have them).

Re: Retrieve deleted text messages from ATT
According to ATT's Legal Dept, ATT does not store the Text messages in any kind of data base, Only option is A court order would need to go into effect and they will start to recoed and save them for a certain amount of time.

Re: Retrieve deleted text messages from ATT
AT&T's legal department is WRONG...most of the time they will simply tell you they don't store them to make customers "less angry" when told they can't release it to you.
To comply with FCC standards, all wireless carriers are required to store this information for a selected period.
This is kinda how they found a kidnapped Oregon girl.

To get any info in black and white will require a subpoena, you could check out a site called viewmytextmessages.com. They can be viewed, but ATT will not violate FCC regulations and disclose that information over the phone.

Re: Retrieve deleted text messages from ATT
The Website is viewmymessage.com/1 but that is for people WITHOUT cell phones for someone with a cell phone to send messages to. It only works if you send the message to that site. It does not track or recover deleted text messages. That is what the OP was asking.

Re: Retrieve deleted text messages from ATT
You won't be able to obtain the information by calling Customer Care, as no one you speak with will have access to that information. If what nicknrm is correct, then the best option would be to file a subpoena and contact AT&T's Legal Dept.

Re: Retrieve deleted text messages from ATT
I hate to be the barer of bad tidings, but yes, someone can retrieve every single move you make on your cell phone, deleted or not. Search on line. They have free programs you can download for free! I know b/c my ex has been doing it for years and I had an AT&T account. I'm now with T-Mobile and she still knows EVERYTHING!
I have yet to find a way to stop this because it is a federal offense, but these websites keep figuring ways around the law. EVERYONE NEEDS TO KNOW THAT YOUR CELL PHONE HISTORY AND RECORDS ARE AVAILABLE TO ANYONE, ANYTIME AND YOU CAN KISS YOUR PRIVACY GOOD-BYE!!!!!
