AT&T has filed a false advertising claim against Verizon Wireless with the National Advertising Division of the Council for Better Business Bureaus. AT&T and Verizon both used phrase lines in their advertising and apparently AT&T has filed a lawsuit against Verizon Wireless for using the phrases, "America's Most Reliable 3G Network" and "America's Best 3G Network" and other similar phrases. AT&T says these statements are false. Verizon Wireless went to the U.S. judge and defended its statements and asked to have them declare "truthful." Verizon asserts that AT&T's argument "relies on the incorrect premise that speed is an essential element of the standard for measuring network reliability." The case is being heard is the U.S. District Court in New York.

Re: AT&T files lawsuit against Verizon

Interesting, but no surprise. These guys go at each other all the time; have done so for past 10 years - with network claims, etc. All these network claims are based on various 3rd party network drive testing, and is very dependent on location of testing & methodology. Sometimes, these carriers use the same 3rd party source, and simply slice and dice the data to get some marketing claim out of it. And, then, they battle over words they use in marketing.

I say get over it, carriers! Someone please step up and do something original, instead of talking to us customers in the same old way, with the same old messages, and the same old phones with new model/marketing names.

what i find interesting is that the big carrier companies spend billions on lawsuits.
lawsuits that in my mind are trivial and reflect no additional value to us, the users!
yet who pays for the lawsuits, us!
    ridiculous

The lawsuit was filed by Verizon Wireless against AT&T Mobility, LLC. How can you be so inattentive to your own link?

They both claim that they are the best / most reliable / least dropped calls, etc, etc, etc

They both advertise the same thing one way or the other. Isn't "best" just an opinion anyway? It really is amazing at how much they will spend to fight something like this. I thought this has been Verizon's message for some time now? Why is it just now coming to light?
