My husband keeps receiving the message, WVCI 1.1ge_im02, from 1111470600 through text messages. What does this mean, and how can he have it stop?
He has a Sony Ericsson phone (I don't know what model though).
From another website - it was talking about Blackjacks but the same should apply.

It's a known issue with OZ IM if you installed it on storage card. Basically, OZ IM didn't/failed to sign you off whatever IM server you signed in. So the IM server tries really hard to reach you via SMS (OZ IM is SMS based). It won't stop no matter how many times you hard reset or app unlock your phone. You need to somehow sing it off from OZ IM. I'd rather use other IM client that don't use SMS instead. Data charge is cheaper than SMS charge.

This issue started for me after I installed the OZ messenger that came with my Blackjack. I continued to receive txt messages even after I uninstalled the OZ messenger. After reading through some posts by other users with the same problem, I got a better understanding of the problem and figured that the txt messaged will stop if I log into my instant messaging services on a regular PC. So I did just that. Logged into my AIM and MSN messenger services on my laptop. Text messages finally stopped! Hope this info helps someone.

Thanks Wickedlfe ... that solved the issue for me.
As the poster above noted, uninstalling an application on your phone does not stop an external site from still trying to contact your phone. Think of it this way. Would deleting someone's name from your addressbook stop them from calling you? You have to turn off the contact at the source. The same thing would happen if you sign up for Mobile Email alerts on one phone and started using another phone without the Mobile Email application installed. You woulld have to use the old phone or another phone with Mobile Email to sign back into the Mobile Email program to turn off the alerts. It becomes really frustrating if you inherit a phone number from someone who did not turn off the alerts. You cannot sign on to Mobile Email to turn off the alerts because you do not have the email account information of the other user.
OZMail runs most of the email and instant message features of Mobile Email on AT&T phones with that application.
