    Hi everyone,

I hope I'm posting this in the right place. I'm new here. Back around June, my husband and I signed up for AT&T with a 2-year contract. Ever since we have been with AT&T, we have had the worst service ever. We almost never get signal from where we live and it's hit or miss in town. We're constantly dropping calls, getting heavy static on our lines, and we are missing several calls due to such poor reception. We've stuck with them all summer in hopes that it would get better, but it has only gotten worse. We finally got fed up, so we signed up for Verizon Wireless this week. We just got our new phones from Verizon yesterday and the service is about 100 times better than AT&T. We even get full 3G signal from our finished basement. I'm so glad we switched!

Now, here is our predicament. Since we have only been with AT&T for a few months, we are still in a contract with them. What we need to know is how we can get out of our contract without being charged the big cancellation fee. We have called AT&T multiple times over the last few months about our poor service issues and they have never been able to help us, so we just want out now that we're with Verizon. Does anyone have any pointers on how to get out of our contract and cancel our AT&T account without getting stuck with the early cancellation fee? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately, you had a 30 trial period. Any time in those 30 days you could have canceled your contract without cancellation fee. After 30 days, you are pretty much stuck with the fee.
Your only choice to recoup is to sell your phones to pay the cancellation fee.
