OK,my wifes phone ( W518a) is very hard to get charged because a contact got bent some how, so I let her have mine, which is the same phone.
I'm using my old phone now (LG-CU400) and the battery last not even 2 days, even turning it off a night and talking on it less than 1/2 hour. I charge it over night and it goes dead the next day,I'm afraid if I talk on it like I normally do for work it'd go dead the first day.

Anyway,She still has about 9 or 10 months left on the contract and over a year on mine. I want to get an LG Prime and use it for me. I'm pretty sure I can use my SIM card in the LG Prime GoPhone but the kicker is this, I heard that if I use my SIM card in a GoPhone that could lock to that phone so I can't use it in another phone when I decide to get one.

Is this true?

Also,is the Prime a smart phone?
Will AT&T charge me a data plan using this phone?

Smart phones require you to purchase a data or messaging plan, if I decide to get a contract phone, does the message plan for family plans count as a messaging plan? Or would I need to purchase a data plan separately for that phone (that I don't need)?
