Switching Numbers with AT&T

Hey, my service provider is AT&T. Is it was possible to switch my phone number from my samsung to an iPhone even-though my two year service agreement is not up yet and my upgrade isn't until February of 2012...and if so could you tell me how?

absolutely - all you should have to do is switch the sim card. I'm not sure if the data plans are the same between phones, but I think they are so you shouldn't have a problem there either.

I used to do that with my carry cell phone; Just switch the simm cards. I would carry one phone through the week and a different one on the week-ends.

According to a friend that works at an ATT Retail store, the Data Plan stays with the phone and does not switch with the simm card. I recommend you verify this if it could matter in your case.

If the Samsung is not a smartphone, you will receive a text message that you need the appropriate data plan. They will switch unilaterally. The data plan goes with the phone number (SIM card) and must be appropriate for the phone in which the SIM card is inserted.
