iphone and droid on same ATT Plan possible?

I have an iphone4 and I'd really like to pick up and use a Droid phone as well on my current plan (grandfathered unlimited).

I've never been the type to move my Sim card between phones so I'm not sure if this is possible. If it's a stupid question I apologize in advance, I didn't see anything with a quick search.

If it is possible would I need to just buy a Droid phone outright for the ATT network?

I'm assuming you mean Android since Droid phones are only on Verizon.

You should be able to do this as long as the Android phone you want is GSM. Worst case scenario you'll have to call AT&T to get something switched on your plan.
