upgrade online question

Ok so my line is not ready for a upgrade, but my dads line is. i know that i can use his upgrade on my line. the thing is that the phone i want to upgrade to is only on at@ts website, not at the store, because it is a refurb. If i upgrade his line on the website, would i be able to take the phone to the att store as soon as its delivered and have them switch it to my line? also, I already have a smartphone plan, but he doesnt use a smartphone, so can att put his original non smartphone plan back on his line after they switch it? sorry if im not clear

They should be able to I would think. Actually, since you posted this in Sept, what did you end up doing?
