Hello, I have a cdm-8500 for the last 16 months. In aug, I notice the reception began to slowly fade, then I packed it in a bag for a flight and now it does not pick up any reception 66% of the time. The other 33% it picks up a signal but with no strength. The store that i got it in is hard wired to the network, in there it pick up the signal with full strenght. It will aslo pick up full strength out of the blue for a couple of minutes then back to "searching system." Is there anything I can do?

send it back to the company...audiovox.. that is. it's all dependent on what batch you got... i was one of the first few to get that phone way back in dec 2002 and the firmware was full of bugs...ask for your phone to get updated or simply get rid of it...that's what i did...
