#1 | | Newbie | Hey guys,
I just picked up this phone, and after seeing the $55 price tag on the data cable at my providers store, I knew that I could find a better price, so I was just wondering if any of you guys had a secret spot in which you could get these things cheap...
I'm about to buy one at ebay (Buy-it-now) option for $11 shipped, but let me know if theres a better deal out there!
Thanks,
-Brad

#2 | | Junior Member | Brad, I have an Audiovox 8410, and have looked many places for the USB cable.... after finding the 55 dollar price also... I have been looking for quite sometime. The best deal I have found has been on ebay, which ironically I just purchased today, for the order total of 11.00 . I honestly think this is a steal. IMO I say go for it!

#3 | | Junior Member | been doing some research and ebay is the lowest anyone seems to have got it for. If you get the cable from ebay you will need to download this software for your phone: Brewsky which I have found here http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...hreadid=406768 best of luck.

#5 | | Junior Member | I *think* the disk is just the drivers, which means you *may* have to download software.

#9 | | Junior Member | I recently purchased a data cable for my 8910 off ebay. The package on the cable lists one of it's capabilities as being able to "upload/download files" yet, all it includes is the drivers. So, I went and downloaded bitpim, and it didn't work. I tried brewsy 8900, and it didn't work either. Is the 8910 just without software that will work for it? Thanks in advance.

#11 | | Junior Member | Well, I'm flying out for over a week right now, but when I get back, I'll try the cable one more time. What I believe.... On ebay it said works with : and listed a bunch of phones... 8910 was on it....
the curitel cable i bought, says works with :wireless internet acess, file upload/download.... etc...
My conclusion, is that while it may work with all phones for SOME features, and some phones may have ALL features.... as they often say fast on commercials -- not all features availible on all phones... I'm going to see what I can get back for returning it when I'm back...
My advice is to not buy a cable until you have found someone else who it has worked for, with your phone first...
EDIT:: woah... if that didn't make sense, let me know, I was really tired when I wrote it....

#12 | | Junior Member | Well, I'm back, and after a frustrating time trying to get my cable to work, and a couple calls to various places, I have detrmined that my phone does not have a cable that works with it, to do anything except use it as a wireless modem. I'm going to see if I can return it for at least some money back.

#14 | | Junior Member | I would appreciate that very much. I'm really lost. Actually, I left my data cable with my brother before I moved, so it wouldn't help unless I get it back. But still, any advice would be appreciated.
