I need to know if audiovox CDMA cell phones need to be unlocked before they can be used on a different carrier. I have a audiovox 9100 that was on with Bell and i want to put the phone onto our carrier here. If this needs to be unlocked would anyone have the code to unlock the phone. Thank you

Well, you do need a data cable, and BitPim. After you get your data
cable and download Bitpim, you need to get your MSL
here's the link to get your MSL
http://webpages.charter.net/cellcodes/bitpim.html
Then you need to get into the NAM programming of your phone, and enter
in your number,etc
Then change the CDMA Channel to Verizon's which is
20283 I believe
Then you can use it on Verizon, you have to call Verizon and tell them
to put the ESN on the account, they will do it. They have for me 3

Hello Bert.
I have an AUDIVOX XV6600WOC, (BroadbandAccess Pocket PC with built-in CDMA phone from Verizon Wireless) I use it nicely as a PDA but I would like to use as a phone too, I am in another country. A guy here put a new local cell line (CDMA Telefonica) but it doesn't work, the receive calls go straight to voice mail. We have to flash the old line?. Could you helpe please? Thanks in advance,
Rol&

Unlock CDMA phone
Hello,
I have an Audiovox CDM-9100 cell phone currently on Bell Canada. I want to unlock it and use with some other carrier, say Virgin mobiles. Please tell me how to go about it ...

Unless you know someone at VM that will bend the rules for you, they refuse to activate non-VM branded phones.

Is it even possible to unlock a Verizon phone? My boss has set me to this task, and I'm just learning.

If you mean an 8910, then I'm not certain about switching carriers while retaining VZ 8910 f/w, but a full flash has apparently been accomplished. (to Cricket)
