Hi. I just got the new Audiovox 8940 and i purchased a 256 meg Sandisk MiniSD card.

I put various mp3's on the card and i cant get the phone to read the minisd card. When i go to music on the phone, it says it cant find any music files. I know for a fact there are several on the card.

Also when i try to move a picture onto the Minisd card, it says ERROR!.

    What is wrong?

    Thanks
    Jason

I have seen this problem on a few forums. The responses I saw were 1) try to format the card in the phone, there should be an option for this somewhere in the menus. 2) some people had compatibility problems with sandata cards. i've read pqi cards work fine with the phone.

What other forums are these? I would like to see what problems other people are having close to mine.

Also i do not see a format menu, is it hidden somewhere on the phone?

    Thanks

    Jason

I go to www.cellphonehacks.com and www.howardforums.com . As for the card, I haven't played around with that yet because I just got my audiovox and haven't recieved the card in the mail yet. If you can't find a menu for it, format it in your card reader on your computer. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the links. I poseted on the Howard's forum and we'll see.

I have tried reformatting the card in the reader(2 times actually). That does not seem to work.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Jason

If the formatting doesn't work, prehaps you have an incompatibility with the card. I have read of this happening. You might need to try another brand That's the only idea I have for you, hopefully someone else will reply with another idea that can work besides that.

that happened to me also. just turn your phone off, put the card in, and turn the phone back on. then it should work.

go to the security menu in the phone then it will ask for password, take it from there.
