Audiovox 8900 Screen Problem

Hey has anyone ever heard of the 8900, or other Audiovox phones for that matter, ever having problems with the internal screen cracking? I have had this phone since March 2004, and this is really the first major prob that I have had with it. It was fine earlier in the day when I was using it, I had set it down for about 1-2 hrs to do some yard work. And when when I flipped it open to use it, I noticed that I no longer had a nice looking wallpaper, but rather, a bunch of wierd blobs of what appears to be ink underneath my screen! There is no damage what-so-ever to the the external part of the phone, but does appear to be 3-4 very fine cracks in what I can only assume is a sub-layer of the screen. Any input or info would be great concerning this extremely unfortunate event...Thanks

Maybe the phone was exposed to extreme heat.
