so i've read all the tutorials about the 8910 (verizon) on here. unfortunately none have helped. my computer, no matter what driver i install, will not find my phone. i installed the curitel and the futuredial with neither working. i have install qpst and bitpim but since my computer can't find my phone they are no help. i'm using one of the usb cables off ebay and i read something saying i need to find what port # its in. well i'm not finding anything in any port. half the time when i plug the phone in nothing happens and the other half i get "bubbles" in the corner of windows saying its not working properly and that i have to install the drivers. well i go to update/install the drivers and it can't find them even though i'm pointing them directly to where the drivers are. please help.

See More: no port, no link, no driver, no nothing HELP!

Install the Curitel sync package (Includes newest drivers), which can be found here:

    Maybe bad cable...

You may have a bad cable. I purchased a data cable from this site:

    http://www.cell-phone-accessories.com/

I had exactly the same problems you are having so I openned the connector up to discover that 2 of the pins were soldered together. These cables are clearly hand made and not very well I will add. Anyway I removed the excess solder that was between the two contacts, closed up the connector and it worked fine after that (not recommending you do this unless you are experienced with soldering).

I would have simply returned the cable, except that their return policy requires that the customer pay for shipping both ways, even for defective products. I also purchased two car chargers from them and they didn't work either. Their support didn't call me back when I asked for help and I figured I might as well cut my losses (too much hasstle to deal with them any further). But they lost one customer for sure .

    Good luck ,

    Ken
