I'm uncertain what you're describing now.

To send data to the phone, you need to be VERY careful. if you do something wrong, the error may be unrecoverable from, and you will kill your phone.

To send data, you choose a folder, and either right click on it to upload something to that directory. If you want to upload a ringer or wallpaper, you need to see if there is a BREW folder in the tree. If so, ringers go in that ringer folder within (IIRC), if, however, like me you don't have a BREW enabled 8910, then you have to overwrite a current wallpaper in the my graphics folder with a file of the same name, size, format and dimension.

If it has a BREW folder, then the ringer folder should be in there, and that's where you'll be adding the ringers.

If there's a graphics folder in there too, that's where the wallpaper should go.

    Beyond that I can't give a step by step, beacuse I don't have a BREW enabled 8910.

Audiovox CDM 9900 USB Cable Problems

    Hello,
I purchased the USB Data Cable for my Audiovox thinking I could transfer my pictures from my phone to my PC, but apperently this is not an option. Does anyone know if there is another way to do this? The phone is broken and has been replaced with a new phone, so the option of e-mailing the pics is out of the question.

Thanks in advance for your help.

It usually is an option. What model phone do you have?

I Have the CDM 9900. The only thing I see available is manage address book and connecting my PC to my phone as a modem.

Ah, I've not had experiece with that model, but I do know it's significantly different than the model(s) discussed in this thread.

BitPim and QPST are the mainstays of accomplishing what you need. Since you posted to this thread, I assume they aren't working for you?

Heh. Well, you can't connect to the phone without them.

Yes, it will work on the 8915.

The 8915 is virtually identical to the 8910. It's simply a slightly improved version.

Regarding the steps, I'd recommend you follow them. If you didn't, just start again.

I've got a bit of a set back, I already got the needed drivers and the programs up and running. but when I got to get BitPim to get phone data, I seems to be trying to get the data, but it just doesn't seem to get get any progress. How long does it initially supposed to take ? I've already checked the driver manager, it seems to check out. the PC knows the phone is there and the phone knows the PC is there but still.
    any help would be great

    Thanks
    Phoney

Are you clicking the filesystem tab?

You have to click that, and then click the + to expand the filesystem tree.
