this conversation might have been discussed over again but for me, and others that just took a plunge into the whole cell phone ringer deal.
for those who know please explain how to use the software Bitpim for ringers and wallpapers.
If there is short cuts to get files to be compatable with the Audiovox CDM-8910
    please let us know.

Some do. If the instructions seem to apply to your phone, then the filesystem is likely compatible.

Don't you see it when you use BitPim or QPST?

If the instructuions match up with what you see, it will likely work.

I've got a bit of a set back, I already got the needed drivers and the programs up and running. but when I got to get BitPim to get phone data, I seems to be trying to get the data, but it just doesn't seem to get get any progress. How long does it initially supposed to take ? I've already checked the driver manager, it seems to check out. the PC knows the phone is there and the phone knows the PC is there but still.
    any help would be great

    Thanks

When you connect the phone, do you see it in device manager as enabled?

Additionally, make sure Bitpim is using the correct port in settings. (Curitel Packet Service, which is usually COM4)

Well. I've heard of people not getting a response for 30 seconds+ or so. How long do you give it before you give up and close the program?

Also, you could try putting the phone into USB Diagnostic mode by entering ##7678 into the handset before connecting it to the PC. (Usually needed on Verizon 8910 handsets)

well last time if left it for about 30 Mins.
great idea, i'll try that diagnostic number on mine.
I'll get back to you as soon as I find out

You wouldn't be able to know how to start a computer program
    doesn't want to start?
    Thanks
