I used mobile17.com to upload an animated gif to use as my background wallpaper, and also transferred an mp3 clip for my ringtone.

It uploaded and gave me a url to follow on my phone's wireless web browser.

I did that and sure enough, there was a link to download the files.

I clicked it and a 'Java powered' screen opened for 2 seconds and than a message popped up indicating something along the lines of:

"This is a non-trusted file. BMC cannot guarantee support for quality of the content."

I clicked "Ok" to continue, and than received a message indicating that the download had failed.

I've tried about 6 or 7 times and keep experiencing the same problem!

Why am I having so much trouble with this and how can I resolve the issue so that I can download these files properly and get a cool wallpaper and ringer for my cell?!

Okay, I managed to download the animated gif as a regular image file, but it just shows up as a black box!

I figured out how to download other images, but I can't seem to get this one working!!!

Also, for some reason it saves as a screensaver... I want to set it as my wallpaper!

How do I fix all of this and why can't I get the image to show up??

This is what I want to set as my wallpaper...

    Can anybody please help me?

Animated gifs are not really compatible with an 8910. There have been reports of a 2-4 frame ani gif working, but more often than not, they just won't display properly.

If you have it displaying well as a screensaver, that's already an accomplishment.

    Thanks TakenABack.

That really sucks. and I didn't get it displaying properly as a screensaver either. It downloaded fine, but it just registered as a black box.

    What about mp3 ringtones though?

I tried using mobile17.com to upload a 20 second. clip of Link Wray's Rumble tune to use as my ringtone, but whenever I try to download it on my web browser, I get an error message like the one I posted above. I tried shortening the clip and it made no difference.

Can anyone please help me with that?

Maybe I should buy a better phone...
