Mobile charging the 8915 (Snapper)

Does the 8915 Snapper require a different mobile charger than the 8610?
When I connect the Snapper to the mobile charger from my 8610, the light on
the Snapper turns green immediately EVEN THOUGH I know the phone
requires charging. Furthermore, leaving the phone on charge with the 8610
mobile charger does not seem to increase the percentage of charge.
So what gives?
