I just recieved this XV6700 (Verizon) used. Sometimes when I "wake" up my 6700 with the power button the screen is on but there is no back light. I go into settings/system/backlight/brightness and the brightness level "on battery" is turned all the way to the left (off). How do I keep it from doing that as I leave it all the way to the right when I turn it off. Also how do you turn this phone off? The green light is always flashing no matter how many times I press the power button.

Re: xv6700 brightness (SOLUTION PLEASE?)
You really should post HOW you resolved it.
I make no secret that having owned THREE of these duds, I consider the 6700 to be probably the WORST phone EVER! In fact, I just physically destroyed mine after two Verizon replacements... NO MORE, EVER! Not remotely worth the endless bugs, hassles and pain.
Mine would occasionally do the same thing - turn the brightness all the way down without rhyme nor reason - except mine would be so dark that you literally could barely see (if you were lucky) to get into the settings section to turn the backlighting back on.
Hope you have better luck with the 6700 than I did, although admittedly that wouldn't take much.

Re: xv6700 brightness
I don't remember how I resolved it. I got rid of the phone shortly there after as I could never get the volume loud enough to hear a conversation.
