Re: Boycott Optus (SingTel)
What retards.
Personally I couldn't give a **** **** if OPTUS/Singel didn't comment on the
Van situation, as OPTUS/Singel is here to provide telecommunications, not to
provide Sympathy over this van Palava or even comment about it... GET THE
**** OVER IT.
Sure, blame the Singapore Government about the to be death, but dont take it
out on optus... My god some people are stupid...

I might just go and move my business _to_ Optus cos of this.
One thing that caught my eye in the article: "the growing Australian
outrage over the scheduled hanging of Van Nguyen" - maybe in the media
and the bleeding hearts, but not in the real world. I am sure most
Australians are of the attitude that he committed the crime, so now it's
time he faces the consequences. I'm sure most Australians are glad that
he won't be bringing 26,000 hits into the country. I'm sure most
Australian's are glad he didn't get caught here, where he would've got a
couple of years in the pen, to be let out to do it all over again.
These are the opinions that I'm seeing in the community, on talkback
radio, and on discussion forums and newsgroups.
Lets face it, it's not like it's a surprise to people that you are
likely to face the death penalty if you smuggle drugs through SE Asia.
There have been enough cases in the last 10 years, not to mention the
fact that it is plastered all through their airports, that van nguyen
would have known he faced the death penalty if he got caught. He weighed
the odds, took the chance, and lost. Anyone who believes he should get
off, is in effect condoning illicit drugs, and condoning drug smuggling.
This is all about a country's sovereign right to govern how it wishes,
an Australian who broke those laws, and a bunch of people who think that
somehow because this bloke is an Australian criminal that he deserves to
be treated differently to Singaporean's. All this talk about a minute
silence, boycotting singaporean businesses etc etc - they all seem to
have forgotten the 1 basic aspect - van nguyen is a criminal plain and
simple. He is a criminal who, given the chance, would have inflicted
pain and suffering onto countless Australians for his own personal gain.
If only .01% of the hits he was trying to bring here killed someone,
that would equate to a likely 2-3 deaths. Van Nguyen was prepared to do
this just so he could make a few dollars (supposedly to pay off debts
his brother had occurred with his 2 prior drug trafficking convictions).
Considering his brother has been done twice before for trafficking, I
think it highly likely that this wasn't Nguyen's first time smuggling
drugs, and am almost certain that if he got away with it this time, that
it wouldn't have been his last.
Nope, the bastard will hang on Friday, and that's a bloody good thing as
far as I'm concerned.

This mongrel is as bad as his brother, only Van got busted in Singapore.
He would have known full well DADA MEANS DEATH! He is a drug
trafficker and his brother was one too, his brother hacked some poor
bastard apart at a train station and that is why his brother had to pay
off debts to lawyers who got the thug off!
Shame his brother didn't get busted over there too, they are both scum
and should hang together.

If Optus was in any way responsible, I would switch all of my services
to them immediately.
The Singapore government should be congratulated for preventing 26,000
doses of misery from entering our country AND the inestimable potential
future damage had he gone free

Re: Boycott Optus (SingTel)
Well perhaps you sould boycott Austar, Foxtel, all TV networks and radio
networks since SingTel owns the Optus satellites we use for communications
every day. You dolt.
The death penalty is barbaric, but if you are stupid enough to traffic drugs
in Asia, you reap what you sow.
We have lost sight of the fact that Nguyen is a criminal and was bringing
white misery to Australia.
Hang him high.

Good on Singapore for getting rid of their old colonial baggage. They
have law that is uniformly applied to anyone who cares to violate it,
Aussie or not. Nguyen is guilty of a crime that kills hundreds and
ruins thousands.

Yep. No wonder this country is going to **** - it's all those cheap
drugs coming in from South East Asia.
We should be supporting Australia and buying AUSTRALIAN drugs instead.....

We could do that, but the Labor party wouldn't have any elected
representatives left, and no-one likes a one-party state. Lets stick to
hanging drug dealers, murderers, rapists and child molestors.

Yeah, let's get everyone who annoys us! I want to hang tailgaters, people
who go through supermarket fast lane checkouts with too much stuff, and
people who throw their empty bags of macdonalds out of their car windows.
Hang the bastards! hang em high! Blood!
