The unison sim makes a lot more sense, no cost
at all if you dont make any calls. Lasts forever too.

Yeah, I hardly ever check it, gets so much spam.

I basically check it when someone says what you just said in this post.

Got it in the list, no seeds currently.

    OK, I'll try it, thanks.

Yahoo does filter but it still lets thru a lot of crap.

As I recall I was commenting on someone else's comment about that.

Yep, certainly worth trying, and its got the advantage that POP is free
    too.

Wouldnt need to, I already have 5-6 in the email POP run.

    Yeah, well worth trying.

Yeah, its about that ratio with mine too.

I havent noticed that, but then I dont scan the yahoo spam folder at all.

    > I am impressed with the Gmail spam management though.

    Yeah, looks dramatically better.

    Yep.

The SMS signup works fine thanks, even tho the page where
you enter the mobile number says it only works for the US.
It does enter Australia for the country auto and works fine in practice.

I mean you don't need an "invite".

Every time? How often do you open an account??

I finally see what you mean. You're correct, it doesn't always prompt to
    open an account.

That's very strange. I have two Yahoo! webmail accounts (mainly
relating to internet forum participation, and it best works with a
proxy server to subvert webmail blocking), and I never get any spam,
without having any sort of special anti-spam account, i.e.,
    http://www.yahoo.com.au

Could you send me samples of your filters? The terminology they use, to
me, seems a bit confusing and vague. I'm not sure exactly how to enter
some filters due to the confusingly labeled form that it uses.

    > I agree re Yahoo. My Yahoo inbox gets as much spam (if not more) than my

I'm currently using Yahoo.com.au. It's doing a good job of stopping the
spam. I have only ONE filter installed. If a messages meets that
particular criteria, then it gets the nod. If it doesn't, it goes into a
spam folder (some messages that don't meet the criteria are actually
legit messages, but not many). So, instead of deleting them, I merely
have them moved to a spam folder so I can check it once a week or so.

You clearly dont include the email address in your newsgroup posts.

    I do.
