I rang Optus to find out why I couldn't dial 1900 numbers from my new
prepaid account.
I don't want to sound like a white supremacist, but I couldn't
understand a word the Indian Call Centre woman was saying. Her accent
was way too strong & she spoke too quickly.
After getting her to repeat herself 3 or 4 times I think she said that
there are no prepaid servieces for 1900 numbers because the recipient
has to pay a connection fee. Is this correct? Is this the same for
all carriers?
Thanx 4 looking.

Yep. This is a copy of the brochure - term 3.

Generally speaking, yes. I've noticed that Virgin Mobile's pre-paid
service lets you call a limited range of 1900 numbers - competition
lines from the looks

Just to clarify - 'yep' was in response to restrictions to 1900 numbers
on pre-paid services. I've no idea what carriers/providers cite as the
reasons - presumably to limit the financial risk from a service with
rapidly escalating call costs.

How would commenting that you can't understand the Indian in the call centre
make you a white supremacist? No need for that PC-bull**** in here mate.
