Who or What is Alan Parkington?

Alan Parkington is an entirely modern phenomenon. Essentially, Alan
Parkington is an gutless individual who has discovered he can 'enhance'
his pitiful existence by pretending to be a Telstra related employee,
thus giving context to his pathetic copy-pasting of Telstra
press-releases and related diarrhea from 'now we are talking'.

Alan Parkington was formerly known as 'Professor James Bell' and 'James
Bell', before the REAL James Bell came on the scene and raped him hard
up the arse like the cheap TLS whore he is - Alan loved every minute of it.

Why is Alan Parkington worth a FAQ?

To inform you of this ****wit of an individual.

Alan certainly copy-pastes a lot of Telstra bull**** here. Why is that?

Alan has no capacity for self-thought, other than being a Telstra
sycophant. The best it can manage is copy-pasting from various sources
and breaking copyright in doing so. Truly un-Australian behavior.

Alan has no friends in real life, and was abused as a child. He also
suffers from a mild case of down syndrome. A specially made keyboard
with only CTRL, C and V was designed so this retarded ****wit of an
individual could enjoy the world of the internets, albeit slightly
    limited in function.

But maybe Alan Parkington is a very clever and knowledgeable person?

    Nup. Incapable of self-thought.

But maybe Alan really is an expert in some areas?

Nope. Alan's only expert area is in getting his posts ripped to bits by
Rod Speed, or anybody else with a clue. If Alan was a Jap, he would of
disemboweled himself long ago - and made one hell of a mess.

What is Alan Parkington's main modus operandi?

Troll. A piss-poor one at that.

But why do so many people respond to Alan in turn?

Essentially Alan is a agent for SingTel Optus, as his posts do nothing
but stir hate towards Telstra to fever pitch. Every post by Alan
Parkington has been a direct copy-paste of a Telstra press release,
which has then been bit-for-bit picked apart to the pack of lies,
factually incorrect statements and bull**** that they are.

Are you saying that Alan Parkington is a Troll?

Kinda, but giving 'Alan' the troll label is a unwarranted complement. A
good troll requires thought to create misleading/slightly factually
incorrect posts to cause a response. Alan couldn't troll his way out of
    a wet paper bag.

What is the best way to handle Alan Parkington?

Tear his posts to bits, kill file or DDoS his bigpond cable IP so he
gets shaped or has to pay $15,000 GB in excess to Telstra - He'd love
    doing that, afterall.

James Bell is a colleague of mine. He has the same mind set. In fact, in one
of James' earlier posts in this group, he announced how T3 Shares were going
to 'boom'. In fact if you had taken his advice, you would now be sitting on
    a MASSIVE profit.

He taught for several years at Sydney Uni so is entitled to use the
Professor moniker but usually chooses not to.

James was far more involved in aus.tv in earlier days. I have been involved
in the telco industry in Australia for many years, and count people like
    Paul Budde as contemporaries.

Re the "$15,000GB Charge" - I, like most intelligent people, am on a Bigpond
Liberty account so no excess fees. In fact, my bill is less than it would be
with any other ISP, including a low-cost low-service model like Internode.

Really? So what unmetered content do internode offer?

Modem Cost: BP $0, internode from $129
Direct Debit forced? BP - No, Internode - Yes
Change of Plan Fee? BP - $0, Internode $20

Rubbish. I;m happy to show the workings as to how BP is around $450 cheaper
over a two year deal than Internode..

    OK..

BigPond 12 months half price offer, 12GB Liberty plan, 1.5 Megabit
(12*34.97)+(12*69.95) = 1,259.04 (Free modem, Free setup, no direct debit
    force, 3 free line filters)

Internode 10GB Home ADSL Plan, (direct debit or credit card only)1.5 Megabit
    from http://www.internode.on.net/adsl/pricing/home.php
    Service Fee 129
    New Modem 129
    Line Filer 19
    24*59.95 = 1,715.80

It's 54.95/month, ****wit. Learn to read. Modems can be got for a lot
    less than $129, ****wit.

Result: Pittance difference in price. Yet Internode still absolutely
****s on Telstra for quality and value of resulting broadband. 100%
    Australian owned as well.

By the way, $1,259.04 for 12GB counted both ways, and 1.5 Megabit is
piss-****ing poor value considering you can get better value ADSL2+ from
a plentora of other true-Australian providers.

Sitting pretty here on 18mbit/sec, 20GB with a total costing over the
last 24 months of $1253.80 (in Modem). Thank you iiNet. **** you Alan
    Parkington yet again.

They are PISS POOR value too considering uploads are counted.

Really? Looking at the iinet page here:
    http://www.iinet.net.au/products/broadband/plans.html

You either have it bundled, or you pay $69.95 per month for 10GB+10GB plus
$69 (min) for the modem. You do the sums, chum.

They have various deals at various times. What's posted on the website
is completely and utterly ****ing irrelevant to what I pay/paid.
