Can anyone here tell me the difference between WAP over GPRS and Pay as you Go?

Data Rates

WAP over GPRS and CDMA1x¹ 2.2¢ per KB block
Pay As You Go on the Next G™ network $2 per MB.

Whenever my NextG phone does something that is data related, such as sending or
receiving an MMS or browsing the Internet the phone tells me that it's
connecting via GPRS.

It's a Palm Treo 750.

If it's not configured correctly, any tips on what server aside from telstra.wap
or whatever it is in the wireless settings is supposed to be would be
appreciated.
