Nope. Why should anyone be allowed to make anonymous
complaints about a posty drinking while delivering mail and
the posty not be allowed to know who made the complaint ?

Our legal system doesnt allow that with criminal matters, and neither should the APO.

    The ombudsman is a ****wit.

"In investigating these complaints, Australia Post officers contacted
the local police station to enquire about Mr H's character."

I guess Mr. H is currently living in a small rural town around the
    year 1955?

    Nothing has changed since.
I have a matter in the works now.
Hopefully soon I will feel more comfortable to be able to add more to this
    thread.
I really think a good look at Australia Posts policies and procedures then
another look at the act and law is required.
    Until then we all pay.

    :-P

Rod's right, and there are may ****wit professors out there. There's also
a legal doctrine known as "procedural fairness".

You only need to think about the reasoning used in this paragraph to
    realize that he's a ****wit.

"One deficiency was that Mr H¢s identity had been disclosed to the PDO. In
the Ombudsman¢s view, Australia Post should have been aware of the
potential consequences of revealing Mr H¢s identity to the PDO. Had
Australia Post been aware, and acted accordingly, the subsequent
allegations made about threatening behaviour by the PDO might never have
    arisen."

One of my letters arrived still holding the "Thank You" card but not
the cheque for $700. The second hadn't reached its destination. This
one had a money order for $1000. The third arrived three weeks late,
    money order enclosed.

These days, I enclose greeting cards in a business envlope. Haven't
    lost any lately.
