#1 | | Guest | Program to send SMS's from PC or Outlook to WM6 mobile (like Nokia PC
suite)
Hi Guys,
When I had my Nokia N80, I used to be able to easily send/receive
SMS's from my PC when connected to the Nokia, via PC suite.
Obviously it is a lot easier to type on the screen, than having to
pick up the mobile, punch the little keys, etc.
So, is there a program for Vista, or Outlook, that I can click, enter
number (or get from Outlook address book), type message, and click
send, and if my TyTn II is connected to my lappy (via cable or
bluetooth), it will send the SMS??
Regards,
Moby

On the web page it says supports Windoze (slow as all ****) Mobile (5),
so prolly no reason why it wouldn't support the HTC.

The HTC is Mobile 6.
Program on PC just stops responding. Before it does, I can manage to
click on settings, and change from (iirc) Smartphone 2003 and earlier,
to Smartphone 2005.
But still stops responding, and closes down/

I am with 3
Dont really want to use a web servive. Just wanna do what I did with
Nokia Suite :-)
If I have a program for the PC, then it should be able to access my
Outlook contacts/phone contacts, etc.
I suppose, ideally an add-in to outlook??
I dont mind paying a smal fee $20 or $30) for a program if it does
what I need.

Moby

What about a web based service. http://smspup.com/ is free but you sign up to receive spam. http://www.net2mobile.com.au/ is not free but you pay around 18/20 cents
to send an SMS.
Or you can sign up to Telstra's SMS Buddy service if you have a Telstra
mobile. Does the same thing as net2mobile but it's an app not a web
service. Your SMSes are billed to your mobile's account.
Dunno if the other telcos provide such a service.
ICQ used to have an SMS messaging service for Optus, Voda and Telstra. But
gradually, all telcos withdrew from the service. Was great but you were
limited to a few SMSes a day.
