Mine doesn't heat up, can get up to two days with Bluetooth turned on as
well.
Is he constantly scanning for wireless networks?

So he still has wireless scanning on, or off? Is he using a wireless
network? Or just has wireless on in the background?
Bluetooth on? Is it set to "Visible"?
Anyway, all or any of the above consume battery power. As for the battery
heating, may be a dud battery or fake battery.
Why not take the phone to a Nokia service centre?
