hey guys,
i was curious if anyone knew anything about the motorola razor on bell, such as how it works and what not and if all the bluetooth features would work such as picture transfers etc.
also, say if i were to buy a motorola razor on ebay, or even from the states, would it be able to work on the bell network up here?
does bell have GSM cards now, how do they get the razor to work in canada.??? just curious
if anyone could answer any questions that would be great
thanks guys
basically the main reason im curious is because i would like to purchase a razor, and i could grab a cheaper one off ebay in the states and wanted to know if it would work in canada
thanks again
bri

Microcell (Fido, Cityfone) and Rogers are the only two main GSM carriers in Canada. Bell is CDMA, which means an unlocked phone is not going to work for you. You would need a Bell-branded V3c (the "c" indicates this is the CDMA version of the Razr).
As far as all the features working, the bluetooth features will not be affected by what company you are with, but remember if you buy a V3c on ebay it must be branded for Bell Mobility or it with either not work at all or constantly go into roaming, therefore providing you with poor service. Also make sure you get the ESN from the seller and call Bell with that info to make sure you're getting a phone that can be activated. If somebody sells their phone on ebay because they owe money to Bell, the phone will be no good until that person pays their bill.

Brad summed it up perfectly, and on a side note, we have not received any yet here at the store. They're in shipping, so we're just waiting for them to arrive. That said, I will be fully testing the Razr on our network and seeing how it performs to other phones.

Bell's version of the RAZR. Available in "gun-metal" grey only is actually far superior to that of the GSM bretheren. It has a 1.3 megapixle camera, and is supposed to come with a video recorder. (A ton of Rogers V3's came with a really ****ty one even though they weren't supposed to have one at all!)
Unfortunately, battery life is almost half of that of the GSM RAZR, which isn't that big of a problem if you get a CLA.Thank you very much sir....As my thanks...A Twoonie...

lets be serious here for a second. How much of a difference do you personally notice in reception and sound quality between today's phones? It is a much more durable phone, and has more features....Which, in my opinion, are the two most important things in a phone.

Trust me, we notice reception and sound quality differences. LG gets excellent reception, as does Samsung and Sanyo. Motorola, especially the cheaper models, such as the C341, was a terrible phone for reception and call quality.
I am slightly hearing impaired, so I can certainly tell the difference between sound quality of the phones. I find that a lot of Motorola and Sanyo phones aren't as loud or clear as LG or Samsung. So yes, I can tell the difference between sound quality on phones.
Since when is durability and features the most important parts of a phone ? A cellular phone is used exactly for that, a phone. Other features are nice, yes, camera phones, sure they come in handy every so often, but the bottom line is, if the phone itself sucks as a phone, then you won't care about the other features.
I personally use 4 phones right now. One is an LG 5400, an excellent phone, and in my opinion, one of the only really good ones of the newer generation, Another one is a Blackberry 7250, which I feel is better at reception than just about every other actual phone handset out there right now (it beats the LG 5400 in weak signal areas 2 bars to 0). The Palm Treo 650 is a nice unit, but not nearly as good reception and sound quality (I can't hear a damn think from the earpiece on the 650) as the Blackberry (hence why I switched to mostly using the Blackberry). And for my personal phone, a Motorola V60i, which in my opinion is an excellent phone. Sure it's not color display, has no Bluetooth, nothing fancy at all, but as a phone it gets excellent reception, great sound quality and volume.
Bottom line is, I want to test the Razr before I make any comments on it.

I wasn't trying to come off rude or anything, I was just stating my own opinion I find reception and voice / call quality to be the most important, as do 90% of our customers.

Everything else, including reception and voice quality come second to those because I'm in a larger center and it's not that big of a problem.Thank you very much sir....As my thanks...A Twoonie...

Mind you, I've used crappy phones in larger cities as well and still seen a difference to other phones. Ah well, I'm making a thread on the Razr, off to do that.

Re: the moto razor on bell: question
my friend got as razr from bell, and apparently the bluetooth transfering of stuff is disabled by bell, all you can do is the wireless head set, sounds pretty lame.
