I have one for you
About a year ago, I purchased 2 palm treo 600s from work and promptly got onto the "employee discount" rate plan
Fast forward one year to today and one of the units is getting the dreaded "no service" failure. ARGGHHH! Tried every type of reset but to no avail.
Called the new rep (old one got fired

) and he was a nice enough fellow but tells me the following :
1. Phones are no longer covered under warranty.
2. I don't qualify for the full upgrade yet since it's been only 1 year.
Since repairing the unit is costly I don't have many options left.
So after pondering for some time I come up with the solution! I'll just cancel my wifes plan and get onto the new promo plan which gives you the new 650 for just $99 for a data/voice activation for 3 years.
I call the rep to tell him my brilliant idea ....... he informs me that i'm only on year one of a three year plan and would be assessed a penalty. "Penalty" I say..... "3 year plan" I ask?! "But they were my phones", "Bell gave me nothing" . The new rep proceeds to tell me that I was signed onto a 3 year contract despite the fact that I didn't receive any phones.
phew..... (sorry for the long windedness)
So what am I to do?
Could I call Bell and demand they cancel my contract and insist that I don't have to pay the cancellation penalty since I didn't get a phone ? Will this work?
Do I have any other options???
Any help or opinions are greatly appreciated !
