Well, it looks like it's time for a new phone...

My friend's little sister was chasing me with a Crayfish yesterday and my audiovox flew out of my pocket and into the lake the phone went in but the battery landed on the deck so I let it dry out and then put my battery in last night and turned it on...all it did was make some sizzling noises that sounded like bacon in a frying pan. This morning I tried it again and the screen lit up but then more bacon sounds and nothing came on the screen. So it seems like it's time for a new phone.

I'm looking for something with Bell to continue on my current plan...I need something simple preferably a flip phone and I'd like to have a camera. I really really like the look of the Razr but I don't want any of the Itunes or the TV garbage because I'll never use it. Is t just there any razrs with just the camera and whatnot but not the TV and music?

If not what other phones do you reccomend.

My old phone didn't have a SIM card so if I get the Razr will I need to buy one as well?

I had a lot of Downloads on my old phone, is it possible to transfer my ringtones and games and display pics to my new phone...I spent a fair bit of money on them.

Thanks for your replies, I realize I'm asking a lot but anything you can help me with would be great, thanks again.

    Re: A lot of questions....

Hi there, and welcome to the CPF !

Ok, let's start. The TV and MP3 features on the Razr (V3c is the model number of that phone) are part of the phone and you can't remove them. So basically, if you buy a V3c you buy those features along with it. However, that said, you don't need to use them, they're just "there" in the phone.

I can recommend to you the Samsung A920, Motorola E815, or the Motorola V3c. All 3 are good quality handsets that will work well for you (actually, they will work better in terms of call quality and reception than your previous Audiovox). The Samsung A900 is a good choice if you live in an area with lots of signal (the phone is slightly worse at reception than the above mentioned 3).

Bell uses a CDMA network, which doesn't employ the use of SIM cards. SIM cards are used by networks like Rogers and Fido, which are called GSM networks (simply put, just different technology platforms). Your old phone number will be transferred to the new phone you buy, all at the store you buy the phone at, so you won't have to worry about anything.

Unfortunately, downloads aren't transferable between phones. So basically, you've lost all the downloads you had, and you'll have to start from scratch. You can call Bell Mobility and explain your situation, see if they'll give you a credit for something, but no guarantees there, as I'm not sure what the exact policy is on that.

    Any other questions, fire away
