I signed up with Bell on a 3 year contract on a family plan and the deal is that you get 2 Plantronics 320 headsets, the headsets are sooooo.. noisy that I cannot use them.
I complained to the Bell Store and no luck, they told me to get lost. I am trying to talk to the Bell headoffice.
I have tested both the headsets and same problem. Is anyone else received these Plantronics 320 headsets and finding that they cannot use them becausee they are too noisy ?
Stay tuned for what Bell does for me, I was willing to pay extra for a better blutooth headset but the Bell store said "NO".

Does anyone know which headset work well with the Samsung A900 ?

I personally find the Motorola headsets to be the best quality. And yes, Bluetooth is Bluetooth, regardless of who manufactured it.

As for the promo, you're most likely stuck with them. Those promos are subject to availability (if that Bell World had run out of them, you'd be SOL), and don't come with any guarantee at all. That said, have you tried them in a different area ? You may be getting interferance from something, although you shouldn't be, it is possible.

    Let us know

Looks like there may be a problem with compatibilty between the promotional headset I received when I signed a 3 year contract. My only option appears to be to go to different type/brand - which Bell is not willing to do (even if I pay the price difference of a differnt brand and the suggested retail price of the promotional headset I received). Does anyone have e-mail address of any senior Bell Customer Service people, I have a feeling I have stuck a brick wall at the Bell Call center.

I don't think anyone will be able to help you. Again, the offer was promotional, as in, if you had activated last month, you wouldn't have gotten any headset at all. Promotional is just that, a promotion, take it or leave it type of deal.

I have a question though, did you sign up with Bell on a 3 year term just because you got the headset for free ?

Re: Bluetooth Headset Bell gave me very noisy - can't use them

Yes, I did sign the deal because of the Bluetooth headsets. I was a Telus customer and my contract was up and I was shopping around or a new contract. I looked at all the deals around and Bell had similar deals as compared to the rest BUT they were saying in their ads that you Bluetooth headsets valued at $89 each for each activation on a 3 year contract. So, I signed up our family with Bell and received 2 Bluetooth heasets (which are not usable). If it was not for the headsets I would have stayed with Telus and not spend all the money on new hardware and connection fee's et.c with Bell.
The way I am thinking, the deal is:
I sign a contract for 3 years( I am giving Bell a lot of revenue), they give me phone, heaset and use of the network (that was the promotion in the newspaper). I am living up to my contract but they have not lived up to theirs. I am paying my bills on time, the stuff they gave me should work. Beacuse it appears that the headset model they gave does not work well with the Samsung A900, I even offered to pay some more $$ to go to a different brand, but they told me to get lost. You do bring up a good point that if I had signed up earlier I would not have receive the headsets, but I would not have signed and stayed with Telus, I thought I was getting a good deal because of 2 headsets valued at (2X $98 = $196- according to Bell ads).
So, it is looking like small claims, BBB, or pay the $800 penelty and cancel with Bell or stop paying the bill.

I find customers to be extremely foolish when they do this. So you got a headset for free, $196 value. How many months in that 3 year term does it take to re-pay that ? 4 months ?

This is not how you chose a service provider. You chose a provider based on the plans, coverage in your particular area, customer service, etc. You don't flip-flop because one company has "a free headset". That's like selling your home and moving 2 neighbourhoods over because the new home comes with "a free bbq". Doesn't matter that the new home might have leaks in the roof, you got the free bbq.

Stop paying the bill puts you to collections, which would ruin your credit rating (if that matters to you). Small claims will cost you more in court fees than the penalty, and you won't win, because nothing has been guarenteed in the case of the "gift with purchase" offer. Pay the $800 to cancel if that's what you want to do, and learn from this experience

You are right it was not very smart for me to swith to Bell, just because they gave me headsets valued at $196, did not realize that Customer Service would be so bad at Bell. I guess, I will evaluate my options (Better Business, Small claims or cancel) and go from there.
I have a hard time continuing with Bell with the current situation.
Thanks a lot for your input.

No worries. And for the record, I fully support Bell and think their CS crew has come a long way from when I first began dealing with them (I deal with CS every day as I sort of work for Bell, long story).

I do however fully believe (and this applies to any and every carrier), that if a customer joins them simply based on a one-time deal (promo on a phone, gift with purchase, $50 one time bill credit, etc), that the customer will eventually be dis-satisfied after that initial promo is done with.

On that note, how long have you had the phones ? Bell has a 15 day buyers remorse period. If the phones are in perfect shape, and have under 15 minutes of usage, you can return them and cancel the contract at no fee.

Better check that value, how about $75-$120 max for both.
Also, have you played with the volume settings on the handset and headset,
    they both may need adjusting.
I have the 645 and 640, and love them both dearly.
I had bad audio with jabra 250 and moto hs500, and hs850.

Re: Bluetooth Headset Bell gave me very noisy - can't use them

In Calgary Canada they list for $89.95 at the Bell Store (that is where I signed my contract) and that is the price they listed in the advertisement. You are probably right you can get them a lot cheaper if you do not buy from Bell directly.
I did adjust the volume on the headset, the problem was not so much volume, rather noise, static to a point where you cannot understand the person (even if the phone is very close, on your belt clip), a lot less than 10 feet bluetooth spec !
The 645 and the 640 will probably work fine, we tried some of the cheaper Motorola headset and they worked okay, it is just the Platronics 320 that is very very noisy for me.
I was more than willing to buy a different heaset from Bell and pay them more money for a different one but they do not want to give me any credit for the Platronics 320, they say they were free. Not in my opinion, I got them because I signed a 3 year contract worth $3000 or more in revenue to them. They would not give it to me if I did not sign the contract. The penelty to cancel is over $800, so the statement that the headsets are free is BS (in my opinion).
    The equation was:
    Samsung A900( about $300 with extnded warranty) + Samsung A920 + 2 Bluetooth Headset = 3 year contracton family plan for 2 users ($60 to $70 per/month)

Anyone else having problems with Plantronics 320 and the Samsun A900 and A920 ?

    Abom,
In one of your other post you mentioned:
"And remember, you can always resign every 24 months, even if you take a 36 month contract."
Can you elobrate a bit, if I have a 36 month contract the penelty is $400 pers user ($800 for me). What do you mean you can resign after 2 years, what is the penelty ? I though if you cancel after 2 years, you would still have to pay $20 X 12 month X number of users.

You can re-sign, or re-new your contract is what I meant. It means commiting to a longer term with bell
