    Hi,

I'd like to know if anyone knows a link where I could download PhoneSync and codes to unlock it. My goal is to transfer hundreds of contacts info from a Moto Razr to a Samsung SPH-A920 without spending hours. I don't want to hand money to bell who sells what should be a free tool in my opinion.

I don't know if there is any software that will be compatible for both network types.

Bell has a phone book uploader, it costs $5 I think ?

Also, what you're asking for is a serial number as well ? So you don't even want to pay for the software ?

Bottom line, cough up the money and pay for Bell's service, it's the best and cheapest.

Well, Bell offers a free phone book back-up tool for the Samsung. The problem is that the files it generates aren't text and seem proprietary. I was told by a rep at a Bell store that PhoneSync is compatible with the Razr and the a920. It needs unique serial numbers though. The guy at Bell also told me that PhoneSync is available on the web for download along with serial number generators. This is what I'm looking for. Phone Sync sells for $30 which is way too much for something I'm gonna use only once.

Again, the guy at the "Bell Store" was trying to be helpful to his customer, which is a good thing. However, downloading the software and installing it with a "serial number generator" is illegal, it violates federal copyright laws. It's actually considered piracy for which you can technically go to jail for. So no, we can't help you out here to find the software. And for $30 for a "one-time" thing, that's not that bad of deal.

Cudo's Abom! For those that don't want to spend the (and the suggested retail is $40 not) $30, you can spend the $15 to have the phonebook transferred in-store. I would venture a guess that you would get paid about $15/hour at your job. How much time have you spent looking for this serial # generator?

    Hi there
I just came across your response to the person asking for a software to download her tele numbers etc - you mentioned that the fee they charge at Bell Mobility is reasonable but what about when I go in and they say they are transfering the tele numbers to the other phone and only do half the amount of the 500 when there is still room for the other half of the tele numbers? Im pretty tired of driving in to the bell m store to get help and find the box is not there or not working - so they at bell mobility tech support suggested bitpim is this a good idea or not?

    Hi Jeanine,

Bitpim is a 3rd party piece of software that can be used for what you are asking. I have found however that it doesn't always work with phones from Canadian carriers. Also you should be very careful with Bitpim, it gives you access to the connected phone's directory structure. Make a mistake there and it can be "game over" for your phone.

The "Cellebrite" unit we use to transfer phone numbers is quick and reliable (when properly maintained). The phone models change so quickly that we require regular firmware updates in order to keep the unit functioning properly. These units are also quite expensive for individual stores to purchase, therefore not all stores have them. We have our own and maintain it religiously, apparrently that does not happen everywhere. I would recommend taking your phone(s) back to where you had the transfer done and ask the agent to update the software before re-transferring your phone book. Best of luck.
