I'm thinking about getting the HTC 6800 but I'm really only interested in the sliding keyboard and windows capabilities. I KNOW the bell people are really going to push me to get a plan with IE but is it possible to just use my regular 200min/month evenings and weekends plan and NOT use the internet?

Yes, of course. However, you'll be paying a higher price for the unit, as there's additional discounts when you subscribe to a voice and data plan.

And the 6800 has WiFi, so you can certainly use that to access the internet via your device.
