Hello, I'm so glad I found this forum, it looks like just the place for my question. So anyone know if Bell is planning to release any new phones for November and December 2007? I read in a recent post that the new Razr2 is being released on Nov 9, which is great news because I couldn't find anything on google.
I'm thinking of picking up the HTC PPC6800 but just want to be sure there won't be anything else new being release. (I have $250 credit towards a hardware upgrade).
Question 2: I hear that Helio is CDMA any chance it will work on Bell?
Thanks!

I don't think in the PDA world that anything new is coming out for a while. Yes there are 2 new Motorolas that are coming out shortly for Bell.
Helio is indeed CDMA, but you can't activate their units on Bell's network, Bell won't allow the ESNs in the system.

Thanks Abom. Good news (kind of) about the PDAs, at least I don't have to worry about picking up the 6800 then having something better come out a week later. Any chance the HTC Touch will be released for Bell? I think Sprint has it right now.
Whats that other motorola being release other than the Razr2?

Not really sure on any new PDAs from Bell. No heads up or anything from them. I'd assume we're in for a new PDA at some point, but no idea what or when.

A $250 credit? I have doubts about this. I've read somewhere that anybody who walks in the store can get this credit.

Yea that might be the case. The $250 credit wasn't a selling point, it was more like I had that sitting on my account because I've been with them for a while already. But I have thought that I should have bargained for more when signing a new contract with them. Gah!

keep in mind for your "credit" you will probably have to resign a 3 year term or somthing like that.

Re: Bell's new cellphone lineup for end of 2007?
If you mean sign a 3-year contract then yes, I've done that already, but I have a superb plan as it is, and they made it even better so I'm not complaining.
That is great news! Is this news official? I'm really intrigued by it, I hear good and bad things about the Touch... but it seems with HTC, they make significant upgrades/fixes to the GSM versions of their phones for when it comes out for CDMA.
Bell also just release the ROKR v6m and Blackberry Pearl 8130 Smartphone. The Pearl is something I bet a lot of people were waiting for. Now I have to figure out between the Pearl, PPC 6800 or the HTC Touch...

Thanks for replying =)
That was bad news to me too until I found out that Bell has launched a groundbreaking feature called Unlimited Mobile Browser which gives you 'unlimited' full HTML web browsing for $7. This is only available for regular cell phones and not for PDAs, but Bell classified the HTC Touch as a regular phone with browsing capabilities. I called a customer service rep at Bell and they indeed confirmed that the Unlimited Mobile Browser feature is compatible with the HTC Touch. I tacked that onto my plan, and have a HTC Touch waiting for me at a Bell store in Metrotown (Vancouver, B.C.)
There is a huge thread on it over at howard forums. I'd put a link but it says I don't have enough posts.
