my dad got this phone...its pretty tight

i absolutly love this phone!!!

I just got one yesterday...still figuring out the details. I'm not completely sold on the phone...I not impressed with how Contacts are listed..not very imaginative or graphic....it's not able to detect duplicate entries.

The ability to download ringtones is very challenging and not very user-friendly. If anyone has suggestions or experience with downloading ringtones to the BlackBerry Storm...please recommend..thanks.

I'm just curious if you have used a Blackberry device before?

If you are looking for fancy applications, than maybe an iPhone is more your style. I think RIM's operating system and apps are a bit dull, but you can't beat it's performance with emailing/messaging.

Do you think it is just a matter of you getting used to it? I wish I had the BlackBerry Bold over the Storm, but not a bad piece of equipment.

Some users may choose one phone over another due to carrier. I would love to try out an IPhone. Seems like a Palm on steriods but I can't. I use Verizon and have had a great experience with them over the last 5 years. In fact I switched from ATT due to problems. The Storm was chosen after trying a Palm and an Omni from Verizon.

Does anyone with a Storm know when an OS through Verizon will be? There has been leaked versions available but I am waiting for the official OS upgrade.

these phones are pretty sweet

This phone is weak. A great big disappointment. I returned it after a week and a half. The apps crash, and load improperly. Not to mention that they cost $20+ rather than $1 apps available for the iphone. The overall functionality of this phone was unimpressive, and they clearly need to fix the bugs, particularly in the Mercury switch.

The Mercury switch is annoying as hell. Sometimes it will stick in one position and not switch over. I felt like smacking it to get it to flip over.

Typing on it was the hardest part for me. I did get used to it, but still had amazing problems with the A key and the B key. This was the eventual downfall of the phone to me.

They are releasing an update if they haven't done so already to the OS. Hopefully this will fix some of the problems. I also see they are now going to be releasing a Storm 2 by the end of the year.

I switched to a Curve, and while I am not found of it, it at least does what it's suppose to do.

My only salvation is the coming out of the 9630 Tour sometime soon.
