Sony Ericsson has introduced two new mobile handsets- Sony Ericsson K630 and V640, which are based on Sony Ericsson’s Java ™ Platform 8 (JP-8). These phones support MSA which stands for mobile services Architecture and also support Java ™ umbrella standard (JSR 248).
The phones are loaded with useful features and provides with applications related to images, videos, audios and games. The V640 is a variant of the Sony Ericsson K630 but is exclusively for Vodafone users. The phones also provide with 3G and HSDPA network support and can help deliver data at very fast speeds.
With the launch of these two new phones, the company now offers 5 Java™ Platform 8 (JP-8) phones which support MSA. These include Sony Ericsson K630, K850, V640, W910 and Z750. All these mobile phones support a range of java programming features like instant messaging, payment transaction and can help you to handle your banking transactions. The APIs that is supported through the use of MSA includes Bluetooth ™, SVG, web services, payment services and location services for Java Micro Edition. MSA helps in reducing the variation in the platform environment and is therefore more preferable as it also helps the application developers to create new applications and games easily in a predictable environment.
