Well in my world it's the same ole same ole..so to speak... My friends, family and I but talk and text.. If one sends a text the other doesn't quite get...a quick phone call will follow. And vice versa.. Texting is convenient, in some situations. We use texting alot when talking to someone not on our network, cause texting is free and calls are limited. I use my call minutes for business, or otherwise important things. Asking my daughter to pick up potatoes from the grocery market on the way home from school.. Just doesn't seem important enough to call during her class hours. And since she doesn't keep her phone turned on while in class, I know it won't interupt her day. So I would say.. It depends on your lifestyle, usage, and reason...Posted 08-27-2008 at 01:03 AM by TearStained

Texting is great for sending quick and to the point conversations, as you mention, texting your child to stop at the store after school, i do the same with my daughter when she's at school, even if i leave a text for her to call home or a reminder to do something.
I'm not that good at texting, but some people, mostly the younger kind, can hold paragraph text conversations, me... after one sentence or two, i make the call... lolPosted 08-27-2008 at 10:44 AM by aepple

Text messages are also often used to interact with automated systems, such as ordering products and services for mobile phones, or participating in contests. There are some services available on the Internet that allow users to send text messages free of direct charge to the sender.Posted 09-03-2008 at 01:28 AM by Anand85
