What do think??? Do you have an opinion??? Where do you stand.

Turning your Car into a Phone with a Bluetooth interface

A couple of weeks after I bought a new car, I was driving around, running errands, when my car started ringing. It was the strangest sensation, as though someone had plopped me down inside a telephone. After a moment or two, I realized it must be part of the GM Onstar feature on my new vehicle. Fortunately, my teenage son was with me, and he, much more technologically savvy than I, quickly found a button on the review mirror which enabled me to answer the call.

Sure enough, it was an Onstar representative, checking that I was familiar with the features and ready to answer any of my questions. Ready, too, of course, to sell me any additional services I might be interested in.

My gut reaction was to turn her down. In fact, during that initial conversation while driving, I did. But then I thought about it for awhile. I conduct a lot of my business—personal and professional—while driving. Many of us do. Mobile technology enables us not to feel quite so frustrated with traffic jams and long commutes. At least our time isn’t wasted if we spend it catching up with friends, scheduling appointments, following up on work requirements, or even calling ahead our take-out Chinese order.

However, I do also have teenagers. As they make their first forays behind the wheel, one of my cardinal rules is this: no talking on your cell phone while driving. I’m way too leery that their attention will be divided when there are so many aspects of traffic that they ought to focus on. And even though I’m confident that a couple of decades’ worth of experience makes driving more intuitive for me, I’ve never been a believer in the “do as I say, not as I do” form of parenting.

Therefore, I did invest in the handsfree car kit available for my new vehicle. If I’m going to set an example for my kids, I shouldn’t be doing my driving with one hand on the wheel and one up to my ear. And you know what? I’ve discovered that I do have more attention for the road, and that it’s a good thing to have both hands free when traffic takes an unexpected turn.

I’ve had to readjust my mindset many times as vehicles have evolved, referring to them as cars, wagons, vans, SUVs, crossovers, or hybrids. Now, no matter what its size or shape, since I tend to do as much talking as driving, I can simply think of my vehicle as my mobile telephone!

Well, I haven't done a blog in a while anywhere, and I have been on this site a while, so I guess it might be time for me to input some blogging while I sit here at work, board in between 911 calls of dumb people asking why there water bill's are so high, people asking for the non-emergency number, all kinds of idiot's.

Well, enough about my job, lets get on with what I want to rant on about. I have been recently thinking alot about going to a prepaid account. I must say I am tired of paying so much a month. I don't pay much, compared to others, but I have 3 phones, with T-Mobile and pay ~160/month for 1 G1 with "unlimited" data plan that includes 400 texts messages (not available anymore), and my faves 1000. Plus 400 text on 1 of the other phones, and of course Family allowances (nephew has 1). My Fiance had 1 of the phones, but she wanted a new phone and a 3G Data card so she went and got Sprint (T-Mob didnt have there 3G USB Stuck then) and she pays about 140 (Samsun instinct with 400/mins plus everything date, plus the data card plan) and to me thats waaay to much. We are going to cancel Sprint (I hope) when it runs out because I prefer T-Mobile, but who knows because Sprint's cotract run's out in 2011, where my last T-Mo runs out in 2010. Just so much drama.... anyways...

I saw Tracphone has a new wireless option, Straigtalk, (only available at Walmart right now) they have 3 phones, from like 50-100 bucks each, then the plans are 30/month for 1000 mins and 1000 text or 45/month for unlimited text and talk, and they piggy back off Verizon (per wikipedia.org). Then, for me anyways, there is Metro PCS, and Boost around here is pretty good. I just figure out weather or not I really want to continue paying so much for something so minute. I could get home phone service for 24.95/month with VOIP, I have Comcast Broadband at home, and yet I think I need to have a phone that act's like a Laptop damn near. I travel, litterly, 10 minutes to get to work, which is unheard of in my area, and I have very little restrictions on the internet sites I can use (of course the usual, but we can't go on Facebook or Myspace, they think its gossping which is against our Policies) so why in the world would I need to keep internet so I can have it in my whole 4.3 mile trip work? In case I am stuck at a light for 5 minutes to take up time I can't keep occupied on the radio with? For a long time I did believe I needed to have this, not to mention I had to stay with my Mother in Law, which was unservicable for Comcast, and refused to get internet and wouldn't let us either, so I did need it there, but do I really need to keep it now? Maybe if I went on Vacation and needed to keep up with something, or maybe for E-Mail's, but I don't have to always keep up with stuff, I would rather carry a PSP in my Fiance's purse and play with that when she makes me go shopping or something boring with her like the doctor, she hates me going back with her so I sit in the waiting room like a little kid, but other than that I dont need a phone to keep my occupied. GPS is great, and having the internet in my pocket comes in handy, but does anyone see the need to keep this? I would love to hear some opinions, and point of views on this, including your stories. Lemme know guys, and gals, what you all think and what you all do.

Edit- Forgot to mention, one thing swaying me back towards T-Mobile is the new Blackberry just announced, 9700 with 3G (never had a BB before)

Jay Sean We Got Our Eyes On You!

I noticed him first time on an MTV show where his hit single 'Stolen' featuring our Bollywood babe Bipasha Basu was being played. I found him really cute, a Desi munda singing, dancing and with all that different kind of a rhythm to his music, it was definitely just the kind I was looking for in the year 2005. A charming and hot looking guy with coolest girl in the town and some tantalizing music. Only later did I realize that Jay Sean is the man, who was the whole mastermind behind redefining urban music.

Me against myself, this was the name of his first album, which featured other favorites like Eyes On You and Dance With Me, featuring Juggy D too. Little did I realize that I'll be so hooked on to Stolen... Chura Liya Hai...the song that has been his biggest hit till date and remained at number 4 on UK charts a big feat for a singer of Indian origin. Swinging to his tunes in UK, adoring fans stalked him at every step, Jay Sean became a name in R&B and Bhangra hip hop lovers could relate to.

Trivia, little facts about Jay Sean:

Jay Sean's real name is Kamaljit Jhooti. Jay Sean is a stage name that he adapted from taking the 'J' from 'Jhooti' and 'Sean' from 'Shaan', a name that his family affectionately called him which means star.

Born in Harlesden, London, United Kingdom, Jay Sean attended a private boy's school, The Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith, and won himself a place at Barts and The London, Queen Mary's School of Medicine and Dentistry to train as a doctor. After two years Jay Sean secured a one million pounds record deal and dropped out to pursue his musical career.

Jay Sean's only obstacle was frequent attention to his race rather than his music. Jay Sean, regarding the fact that he grew up in an extremely diverse country such as United Kingdom, had developed influences from his Black and South Asian friends.
