This is the myth buster blog! It is going to bust any myths about wireless carriers. It is going to help you understand the wireless world better.

Once again, like all of my posts, this one is mostly aimed at subscribers within the United States. Some of the content may have quality to you and your phone in another country, so still read!

Are wireless phones harmful? Can a wireless phone automatically unlock your car doors, much like your click keys can do? Can they pop some popcorn, like a microwave? Will the airplane crash if my phone is active on it? Do they harm the bee population? This and more will hopefully be covered in this posting.

The harm of cell phones! This is the most common question when people pick up their wireless phone for the first time. Can I get some form of cancer? What about my children? This is a debatable issue. Ever since the creation of this miracle device, the cell phone, media and the public have assumed that they are harmful, without any form of proof. Eventually, after the myth grew, people investigated. Currently, they do not know the truth of this issue. Cell phones do emit some forms of radiation, which have been claimed to be at a low level. Recently, a scientist claimed that cell phones are more deadly than cigarettes and asbestos. Click there for more. Other leading scientists said the guy was crazy. Right now, it is debatable...with no proof to follow it. Use at your own risk. Also, remember GSM/WCDMA devices with SIM cards emit up to 4 times more radiation than CDMA/iDEN devices. Test it, place a cell phone through AT&T next to your TV. Place a call. See what happens. Do the same thing with a Verizon phone. Compare. This varies by phone model and manufacturer.

The keyless/missing key myth. Can a cell phone unlock your car? FALSE. I am not going to go into detail about this myth, I was just amazed. You can click this paragraph to view greater detail.

Cell phones may be the cause for the lessening bee population. As more cell phone towers go up, signals flow even more. This apparently causes damage to the bee's navigation technique. Once again, myth unproven.

Did you know a cell phone can pop popcorn? Think it is too hard to believe, well it is. The YouTube videos that have been passing around YouTube, all posted by the same user, are clearly a hoax...don't believe it. Try it yourself. Yes, cell phones do emit low levels of radiation, but not nearly the equivalent of a microwave...that's insane. It is the result by a headset maker, making these false claims. I don't know all the details.

Cell phones on airplanes...wow...what a topic, without any evidence. In 1999, all airlines in the United States banned the U.S. of cellular phones while aboard. Did they tell you that this is based on pure theory. Also, remember cell phones came out in the mid 90's. The kind we know anyway. People had been safely using their cellular phones for about 4 or so years! Back then, cell phones had more potential to be harmful than they do now. American Airlines states that "Even though there is no scientific proof that cell phones will interfere with our mechanical devices, we feel passengers should be paying close attention to the flight attendant and any emergency instructions, not their wireless phone. It is clearly a distraction." This is debatable.

Any other cell phone myths you want me to try to bust? I'll gladly investigate for you. Leave me a comment! Also, please tweak my post with comments.
