Ouch! A word of warning, turn off your bluetooth when you're not using it. Getting spam from a billboard is nothing compared to walking by someone and getting a virus in your phone! Yes, it happens and it's no fun.

Huh?? How can you get a virus just by walking by someone? How does that work?

It happens much the same way that you got that spam advertisement. If you walk near someone with an infected phone, their BT virus can be passed on to you if your phone automatically accepts incoming BT connections. A few years ago, someone even made a BT virus that affected Lexxus cars, and anyone who drove near an infected car could pick up the virus (if they were driving a Lexxus).

Do a search of our site, look for bluetooth virus, and you'll find some related threads that can explain it better than I can. We've heard numerous reports here of bluetooth viruses affecting mobiles.
