how long it takes for others to receive texts

hey i just bought a boost mobile phone.
i have the $1 a day chat plan, and i was wondering how long it's supposed to take for others to receive your text messages..?
i have a freind sitting in the room with me, i send him a text, and he doesn't get it 10 minutes go by... still no text. he decides to text me, i receive it in seconds...
why is this..? is this normal..?
does anyone else have this problem..?

thats happening to me too... i get all texts sent to me but i cant send out
and also incoming texts dont have a name or # or reply button

THATS HAPPENED TO ME BEFORE, WHERE I CANT EVEN SEE A DANG CALLBACK NUMBER, AND OR A FRIENDS NAME, SO THAT KINDA CONFUSED THE HECK OUTTA ME

okay after about a day or two my texts started returning to normal
it took a few calls to customer service, 1-800-boost-4u and a little patience but its all good now. it was caused by a few things. one was that i had recently activated my phone another being that there was a problem going on with their towers.

if this happens to your average text call up boost and they will help you out and maybe all you need is for them to reset the connection to your phone.
