Hello everyone. Nice Forum, I work for Metro, and have ATT now and am considering switching to something new. I have an ATT Tilt and LOVE it. Can put it down most of the time. I only have a the Rollover 45o plan with the unlimited Data and the past few months I burned all of my rollovers and am pretty sure I need to upgrade my plan. As much as I love the phone its cheaper to get a second phone like a Metro or Boost then to upgrade to the next plan up. I have had them all Nextel, Sprint b4 they where nextel, Verizon, ATT, and I was very happy with all of them except Nextel. I do miss the Blicky (Direct Connect) Even had Bell Atlantic before Verizon.

Anyway I'm leaning towards getting a Sprint HTC Touch and unlocking it for Metro. Now that I see this Unlimited plan from Boost I'm considering it if there are any decent smartphones out there preferably windows mobile that I can unlock for boost. I live in South Florida where all of them have good coverage phone coverage. But I do frequently travel to MD where Metro doesn t have coverage. Also I use a whole lot of data and sometimes tether to the laptop (shhh) and ATT speeds are excellent and Metro is pretty close believe it or not.

SO how is Nextels Iden network as far as data speed compare to CDMA, and GSM networks. Are there any PDA/Smartphones out there with direct connect that will tether?

    Thanks for all feedback

Re: Boost Data Speeds and Usage

Boost isn't able to pride themselves with good data speeds...I'm not even certain slow data speeds exist.

I do know the HTC Touch Pro from Sprint doesn't use SIM Cards and therefore cannot be used on Boost...CDMA devices don't unlock.

Verizon Wireless and Sprint have the fastest data speeds. Verizon has the larger data coverage, however.
