setting up blackberry 8350i

I just purchased a blackberry 8350i. I am done my contract today with my current carrier so i will be switching to boost in a few days. I want to flash the phone to work with boost but i also want to keep my number. So what should i do first? should i flash it THEN call and activate it with boost or should i activate then flash? and when should i port the number? after or before doing the flash and activation?

Dude u not hearing me there's NO NEED TO FLASH...all u gotta do is call boost and use a regular boost/nextel phone tell them u wanna port yo number ova then they will activate yo service don't tell thehm u are goin to use a bb...after they acti yo acc wit the regular phone put yo sim in the bb and make sure u can make/recieve calls after dat gobto my thread to get mms workn

oh ok i was under the assumption that i had to call them to activate the BB for boost use...i know they will give me a temporary number till mine ports over, i should still get the temp number on the boost phone and when it works switch the sim card to the BB and once my number ports it will work on the BB?

Actually your number should be workn in a few hours or less but once u get the sim activated u can go ahead and put it in the bb then follow my directions to get mms workn
