Ok heres the deal guys.
I currently have a contract with Helio, which will expire On the 23rd of September. If its relevent, i have the Helio Ocean, and got it in sep of 2007. I have ordered an i835 which is what i had before i went to Helio. The i835 comes with a starter pack sim card. I will become a new boost mobile customer. So i'm wondering:
- Can i transfer my phone number with a starter pack?
- Since i will receive my i835 this week, and my contract with Helio expires on the 23th, is it possible to transfer my phone number to boost once i receive the phone, select the monthly unlimited plan, and insert $50 to cover the cost of the plan, and still have my Helio plan running so i don't get charged ETF?
- So basically what i meant with my last question is:
- Can i sign up for boost mobile, transfer my phone number, still remain under contract with Helio until i cancel after my contract is met on the 23th, and still be able to fully use Boost mobile services and my i835. I dont care to use my Helio Ocean after that if its possible. When i say full use boost mobile, i mean that if i could recieve and make calls with my i835, after the number is transferred.
If i could get any help that'd be great, thanks everyone!

Re: Transferring number
If you Port your number, which is transfering the number to another phone/provider then your contract will then be stopped the date it goes through. It can take from 24 hours to 1 week, depending on your current provider (Helio) and the carrier your going to (Boost). If you don't want to get hit with an ETF, then you should wait until the 23rd before you put in a Port Request with Boost. You can still activate the service, but you will get a phone number that you don't want/need.
As far as you using the Started pack to Port, I am not sure about that, I would call Boost and ask them what you would need to do in order to get your number Ported over to them Good luck, BTW, and lemme know how Boost works for you, I am thinking about switching when I run out of my Contract!!

Re: Transferring number
Alright thx for all of the help, and i'll surely let you know how it goes. I used to have boost 2 years ago (before i went to helio) and it worked pretty well, but back then i only used it for talking, now i'm going to use for everything, but mostly text and talk.

Re: Transferring number
I actually almost can guarantee it will not work.
Last I checked, Boost was a pay as you go provider...or considered one anyway.
This means you cannot keep your number when you go to them.
