CDMA phone activation on boost mobile

ok so heres the problem im having
i have a 50$ unlimited card for a 1 month of talk text and web, like normal.
but the problem is i dont have a boost phone and have very little money to spend.
i live in an area that is only covered with CDMA models by boost, but the cheapest CDMA phone on the website is 79.99 and the phone itself isnt worth 10$ today, just a generic little flip phone. i looked around and found another CDMA phone thats way better, and about 30 dollars cheaper,and also a sprint phone, which is what most of their phones are anyway, but im not sure whether or not ill be able to acitvate it, and i dont wanna run around wasting money buying phones. the website says all i need is the pin no. or sim card to activate and i can do it online, but ive also seen others say that i would have to buy a phone directly from boost in order to do soo. and that i would not be able to do ANYTHING but look at my nice new phone with no service on it.
i guess the bottom line is,
can i get a CDMA networked phone, off of ebay or something, activate it, and get it to work correctly on boost mobiles network?

To my knowledge this is impossible, reason being that Sprint is CDMA and Boost is GSM....could be wrong though.
