I am now trying to figure out why almost NONE of the 3rd party applications work on this phone. Really making me mad. At least Opera browser and google maps work, but there are a ton of games and apps written in java for phones that are free, or heck I'd pay a few bucks if they just work!!! I just bought a 16gb card and am ready to fill it up! I know it's not an iphone, but there is a lot of potential with little java apps. I have tried getjar and the opera mobile store and don't think hardly anything has worked. I just downloaded a torrent fullf of games and haven't tried those yet, but I'm not really interested in games on a low tech device like this. I guess I'm spoiled by my iPod touch, but this thing should run more than it does. Is it locked out by Boost or something? What I REALLY REALLY want is a shoutcast type or other internet radio app. I found a few, but they don't work. Errors always upon downloading. Please help!

Here's a good app I just discovered. The AccuWeather app. I know the phone already has it pre-installed, but that's the direct link to their site. This app lets you monitor 5 cities at the same time on a 4-day forecast.
Link on phone: Weather v1.1.20

Yes, I have that one, but I think I cannot see all of the screen. I picked the 320 pixel version since that is the horizontal resolution of our phone, but something is missing.
Also, today I found a game called Family Guy 2 which works but has no sound. It looks great and plays well, for a java game. Really I'm not interested in games so much although some tetris or jewels clones might be nice.

Have you updated the firmware yet?

No I have not update the firmware. How do I do that. The phone is new, so it shouldn't have old firmware. I does play youtube videos, although they look horrible.

[QUOTE=bhermance;1428584]A lot of phones are mass produced and your phone may have been made a long time ago, possibly over a year ago. They do NOT go back to the old phones and update them for you because it is not in the factory anymore and have already been sold to the resellers. This is the reasons for the phone updating tool on your phones. The phone updating can also turn once "pay-for" apps to a free application. ( I think, but not sure of this) today's phone is like a computer or PDA and requires constant updates and fixes just like PC. :-)

I have not had any problem getting apps on my phone. I have only had ONE app so far that did not work.
I use a work around method to get free apps on it without having to buy it from Boost Mobile. I use a Sprint Uploader website and should work with most phones even if you do not have Sprint as your carrier!
IF you want to know how to do this. Let me know.
