#1 | | Junior Member | This is my review of the Sony Ericsson W300.
I really enjoy using this phone as it is just like my old Sony Ericsson Z520a, but I even like the color scheme even more, even though it is not customizationable like my old Sony Ericsson Z520a. It has a nice display that shows you the time when the phone is closed, and if you are using the MP3/Walkman player, what song is playing, how long the song is, and how far you are in the song. There is even a cool FM Radio that you can use to listen to music while you are on the go. The keypad feels a little sticky though when I use it, and the numbers seem to lock up on me sometimes, and the typing feels a little bit off, but the navigating through the menu is a breeze, and is easy to use. The camera and video camera are easy to use, and the pictures and videos come out looking nice. The two features that I really love to use are the Music DJ and the Video DJ. The Music DJ allows you to create your own music, while the Video DJ is basically a movie maker for your phone where you can attach clips, add music, and text to your videos to spice them up and make them better. The games are all in 3D and they are fun to play and use. Something that I haven’t seen with any phones, and is a cool feature is the fact that you can attach your phone to a stereo and listen to it from there. This is a very sleek and cool phone, and I would really suggest buying it. I would rate it a 8 out of 10 and is a must buy!
PROS: - MP3 Player works great
- call quality is awesome
- lightweight
- and looks really nice.
CONS: - Sticky keypad
- freezes sometimes
- small screen
- tiny letters
- to use FM Radio you must attach the handsfree device
- sometimes doesn't turn off unless the battery dies.

But I can neglect and forgive it,after all,I reaaly cant find any other defect from it except that
defaut.I've been using it for 2 years,I love it very much.
Oh,another thing a forget to mention is the material of the camera and LCD screen,my meaning is they cant endure scrapes. So I have to bought a case and Screen pretector to protect it.
Now,it works as the day I bought it except some scrapes.

The idea of having only one port on the phone wasn't very bright! Other than that I can't complain, I've dropped it on concrete quite a few times, it's gotten wet, & still works fine! As far as using my MP3's as ringtones, I am using the old program I used for my old Motorola, to split the MP3 up into a 30 second or less MP3 & then transfer into my phone via the USB cord. Sounds like a lot of work but only takes a few minutes & gives me the ability to pick which part of the song I want to use as my ringtone, which I actually prefer. I don't text much, so I can't comment on that, & I don't expect much from any camera or video phone but what it takes suits me fine! If I want perfection, I'll use my digital cam. Sony doesn't make you pay extra for their PC programs, you can download it free from their website, unlike Verizon. I've been through many brands of phones & I find this one to be tops actually, I am pretty impressed & I am going on a year with my W300i. I would recommend it! My friends were jealous & went out & purchased new phones that were Walkman like, only to be disappointed & wishing that they weren't stuck in a 2 year contract with a phone that they really did not like. They thought they were going to one up me, but still ended up regretting not getting the W300i!

It's camera is quite bad with just VGA resolution (0.3mpx) with a poor video clip recorder. The main display is solid and clear, but too small for my taste. Also the keyboard is not the most comfort for use. However, connectivity is pretty good, with support for USB, Bluetooth, InfraRed, Fast port and mass storage. Battery life is solid.
