Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

I don't know if any short cuts exist for saving personal camera setting. I keep hearing people say the same thing about the camera and having to reset it every time you go to use the camera.

Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

Alert:

When texting, and you need to insert a number, what do you do, you probably hit the little Abc window @ the bottom left corner, when the entry mode menu pops up... you touch the 123, and then type the numbers you need, and reverse the process to go back Abc's. STOP!

This comes in handy for everyone and anyone who sends texts, when you typing a text message, Example... ' i'll be home at 245 ' touch and press down on the ' abc ' key in the keypad and hold it for a second or two, the number 2 is typed, do the same for the number 4... press and hold the ' ghi ' key, and the number 4 is typed, and then press and hold the ' jkl ' key and the number 5 is typed. Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

When you want to use numbers, just press and hold shift key, and then hold the Asterisk to switch back to Abc's. i think this a little better than holding down the key the proper key to match a number.

Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

Alert:

This should be helpful, if you need to call your voice mail number, or any number which needs a pin or pass code, this setting will come in handy. Lets use your voice mail number as the example...

Go to contact list, choose SPEED DIALS, ASSIGN A SPEED DIAL, lets use speed dial #3, choose your voice mail listing, then touch/click the number in the listing, the number pad should show and the phone number appears in the window, then touch the menu box at the bottom right below the CLR key, a menu should pop up, choose the 2-Sec pause, the letter P should appear after the last digit of the phone number, then enter your pin password number, click save and then done.

The speed dial allows you to just touch and hold down on the speed dial number (example #3) and the number should be dialed, once it connects, it pause to enter your code for you.

It saves you step or two and allows you to pay more attention to the road if you happen to be driving.

You may have to put "two" pauses or even "three" based on what part of the country your in... different parts of the network behave differently and you will have to experiment.

Instead of making a contact entry, with the Dare you can go to "messages" by hitting the envelope in the lower left, then hit the options screen by hitting its icon in the lower right, go to settings.. scroll down to voicemail and change the number your full 10 digit # followed by PP, then your passcode followed by a # sign.

The format will look like 3337777777PP1234#

Pauses (PP = Two 2 second pauses) are added by hitting the options icon in the lower right while doing number entry and choosing the "2-Sec Pause twice"

As mentioned.. you may only need one P instead of two or three.

ONe thing I'm not thrilled about is the fact that when sending a picture, it automatically downsizes it to 35 kb.. I have yet to find a way to toggle that choice so I can send full resolution to my or anothers email if i choose.

Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

Has anyone figured out how to make the photo settings stay the same. I want autoflash, smart pic, and face recognition to always be on, but those settings are cleared every time I exit the camera. This is very annoying. Settings like screen resolution are saved, but not those others.

Alert:

If you happen to be browsing the internet and need to zoom in or out, just use your thumbs to press the volume buttons at the top left, which is actually the side volume buttons. i found this to be a natural movement while holding the DARE in the landscape position while surfing the internet.

Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

I have had this phone for a few weeks now but i am just starting to do things with it. You can do so many things with this phone it is by far the best i have had. Its good for the everyday person and if you like to text i find the keyboard very nice. (besides that its kindof small)

Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

I've had my Dare for about two weeks and I'm still trying to decide whether to keep it or trade for something else. I like the Dare but I am really struggling to be comfortable with it's touch screen. I'm constantly opening things by accident. Kinda frustrating. Anyone share the same experience? Does it get any easier? Thanks.

Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

wow, I had no idea the video quality would be so good on the Dare.

I just got the LG vu...I'm thinking about whether it would be better to get a dare but I don't think it's offered through Rogers in Canada

Make sure you calibrate the screen the same way you use it... in other words.. don't use a stylet or the point of your finger to calibrate it if in real life you use use the corner of your thumb as I do when I use one hand.

Other than it hesitating ever so slightly when I'm in a rush.. I have had no problems except the regular stuff when on the web.... where you have to hit a link several times to get it to finally go.

I have the same problem with my LG vu. Scrolling on a phone is foreign to me so I'm still trying to get used to it. I just got the phone yesterday.

A problem I've had is that when you scroll through the contact list and let go, the scrolling continues and you have to be cautious about how you release. I accidentally deleted a contact today.

I'm not sure if it's a callibration issue since I've already re-callibrated. I think it's a matter of getting accustomed to the way the touch screen responds and adjusting the way you grab and scroll.

Re: RealTime LG DARE REVIEW

This week i put to the test the DARE video camera, i took many video clips outdoors in beautiful sunshine weather. Trying to read the screen on the DARE in sun light is a bit of a task and a Hobson's choice. Last year i used a video camera to shoot the event so this year with the purchase of my DARE and its excellent video camera, i wanted to put it to the test of real action video shooting.

See Videos & Pic's Taken With Your Cell Phone

For shooting a video i would suggest a real video camera, but as a hobson's choice it doesn't get any better than having the DARE cell phone video camera feature at hand. You should be very happy with the results of capturing a event/moment on video when all you have is your DARE cell phone.
