We’ve been following Siemens’ various
attempts to unload its mobile business with varying levels of interest over the past few months (there are only so many
times you want to write about how they’re supposedly selling the division to somebody else), but there’s a new twist in
this ongoing saga. German magazine Der Spiegel reports that Siemens is in talks with both Nortel Networks and Taiwanese
electronics manufacturer Acer about
possible partnerships. No specifics on what the outcome any deal might be, but supposedly Acer is just as eager to get
into the cellphone game as Siemens is to get out.
